Hooded eyes

I've aged dramatically over the past year and over the past week it seems. My eyes look so old, I feel incredibly sad. Is there anything that I can do/put on them to help imrove this?

Thank you

Surgery. Nothing else would work. You might get some more help on the Style and Beauty part of MN.

Agree. Nothing else will fix this apart from an upper blepharoplasty, it’s sagging skin and only removing it will make any discernible difference. I had this done in my early 40s under a local. It was one of the best things I ever did. Made me look a decade younger. I always had hooded eyes since a teen.

Upper blephs. I had mine done two years ago under local. Cost £1800.

I had upper bleph 3 months ago, I no longer look tired but rejuvenated. Cost just shy of £2k. They removed 17mm of excess skin from each eyelid, I have eyelashes again. Local anaesthetic and only painful that first day.

@WigItAnyway do u have any scars? Would love to get this done.

WigItAnyway · 18/11/2023 11:28

@Touty I am 11 weeks post op and I do have visible scars at the minute but I am very, very fair skinned as in if I was choosing Boots no 7 foundation I am half way between their palest porcelain and calico. My scars are pink. You cannot see most of it as they blend into the natural crease of the eyelid however the scars do extend past the eye like a winged eyeliner, one little finger's width. That is what you can see. The usual rule of thumb is 12 weeks post op but I never fall into that category medically but I knew that. I am booked back in again for 6 months post op appointment.

There are loads of online photos showing recovery stages. Most people look incredible after just a couple of weeks. It depends how your skin reacts to things. I react to shampoo, any and every shampoo, I come out blotchy on my face and neck. I went into this knowing my recovery would take a bit longer. Having said all of that I am over the moon pleased with how I now look. The stitches came out after one week, it was one line of stitches so not individual ones, they just pulled from one side per lid.

I also had some fat removed from the inside of the eyelid near the nose. You can see when someone hasn't had that part done for an upper bleph if they have fatty lids as well as droopy, really selling my beauty here aren't I? Grin There are videos showing the op if you really want to see what they do.

@WigItAnyway thank you so much for your reply, I’m very grateful for the information, I think I will go ahead and get it done next year 😊

I'm booked to have upper blephraplasty in January. I'm so excited. There is a FB group for surgeons and recommendations.

Botox can have good results for some people if you have a very good practicioner who places it strategically to lift the brows. Can also make the problem worse if they don't do it right though...

Good luck! It was honestly one of the best decisions I ever made- no scars, healed super quickly, and has made a huge difference. I can actually wear eyeshadow now!!

Hi, how do you find a good surgeon for this procedure?
