Hi there what age are you? my sister who is older than me middle 50's didn't have a period for months and then at a friend's house one night she was in excruciating pain which she never used to get and had to go home as got her period. Sometimes you can get a one off period after a few months. If you are worried at all see your doctor and ask to be sent to gynecologist for a scan to check that there is no thickening of the lining of the womb. I went on continuous hrt as was having such heavy periods and had me drained. Hope you feel better soon.

You poor thing, is horrible. Try to rest up if you can, Are you on hrt? I had to change to continuous hrt as was having such heavy periods that lasted forever and I was drained and sick of the sight of blood. Also I would suggest taking iron daily with vit c as you will need if after losing so much blood. Look after yourself ok.

Try massaging Ibuleve Gel on your back it works wonders- heat packs help too. I'm in my 50's and I think coming to the end of the horrific periods but have had around 5 years of this. Rest up too if you can - I work full time but mostly from home so often go and lie on my bed for an hour at lunchtime- I set an alarm as doze off a lot Blush it really helps.
