Bulging veins, thinning skin and menopause

Since entering menopause I’ve noticed that the skin on my hands and forearms has thinned and the veins are becoming twisty and very visible. They look like varicose veins, not attractive at all :(.
Has anyone else got this problem? Would hrt be helpful? (I’m not taking any atm)

Yes, my veins are much more noticeable on my hands. I have noticeable varicose veins on my right leg too now. I find keeping the hands as moisturised and hydrated as possible helps a bit but I think only cosmetic surgery can remove them permanently. HRT hasn’t made any difference to mine.

@Fififizz thank you for replying. When you say cosmetic surgery do you mean sclerotherapy? Apart from looking rather unsightly mine are not painful - yet - so I’m trying to accept the way my hands look now but it’s a challenge.
Hm, shame to hear HRT has not helped.

Yes, I’m assuming it’s sclerotherapy they use. If you’re fair skinned the blue veins seem to show even more. HRT has helped with some things but not this. I’m assuming I’m prone to them unfortunately.

Same here - I’m very fair skinned so you can see every single vein…I’m considering HA fillers to at least so what improve the appearance as sclerotherapy scares me.

I’m just going with it. My worst menopause symptom is low mood really. Aesthetically things aren’t great but it could be worse too. I had elva and some sclero on my legs as they ached. They’re better now but not perfect. I still have some skin staining from the sclero so that’s a consideration too. Good luck with the HA if you decide to try it.
