Hi all

I have recently changed from 2mg of Zumeron estrogen only hrt for about 11 years but as i am now 56 I thought transdermal route would be a safer route, so I changed to Everol 50 gm, that was nearly 4 weeks ago but this last week OMG I am feeling depressed, just want to cry, snapping at everyone, anyone out there please help.

It’s too low. 100mcg at least but oral 2mg is the high dose.

Clot risk 9 in 10000 with the oral verses transdermal

If you are under bmi 25, no miscarriage or clot in the past the oral is ok. Speak to a menopause doc

It’s the progesterone that causes BC not the oestrogen. If your spontaneously develop a cancer it can feed it but that’s low risk too.

I agree with the previous poster, ask to be put up to evorel 100 patches at least and see how you feel, that was quite some reduction in dose you did! Or go back on the oral HRT if you need to, as above the risks are still low (assuming no other major medical history). You could go for 1mg zumenon instead of the 2mg and see how that is for you?

I took the patch off yesterday afternoon and today not as bad but still miserable, I am ringing the menopause nurse tomorrow morning to see what she suggests, so you both believe that I am no getting enough estrogen.

Yeah, you’ve gone from having loads of oestrogen to very little all of a sudden, I think it’s not surprising you’re having these symptoms.

@moonbeamyoung The British Menopause Society table, shows a 2mgs tablet is the same as a 50mcg patch.

https://www.womens-health-concern.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/27-WHC-FACTSHEET-HRT-Doses-NOV2022-A.pdf

Page 3 of this doc.

Usually with tablets, you don't absorb all of the estrogen as some can be lost in digestion.

2mgs is a medium dose, as is a 50mcg patch.

Hi all

when i first went on the patches I cut them in half but noticed I had hot flushes so after about 2 1/2 weeks I went on a whole patch, 50g, then I started feeling blurrr untill last week i really started to go down hill, and as i said Sunday I was so depressed and my head was feeling really odd and since taken the patch off I am today not that bad maybe a little heady. I have the meno nurse ringing me tomorrow , unsure what to do
