Upset by contents of prescription

I’ve been on hrt for 6-9 months, I’m 41 and in earlyish perimenopause. I went to see the practice nurse to up my oestrogen and also asked for a cream to help with dryness. The nurse isn’t my usual one and needed to speak to a doctor and wrote the prescription when I wasn’t there. I’m not sure if it’s been wrongly prescribed (ie the dr suggested one thing and she’s picked the wrong option) but I was really upset when I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy, brought it home, read the leaflet and discovered I’ve been given a vaginal cream which contains a local anaesthetic 😭 when I was hoping for a local oestrogen cream. I had to pay for the prescription too because it wasn’t actually HRT (although that was what I was expecting). Not looking for advice really just sympathy lol, I don’t think I can return it and I’m really quite upset.

That’s annoying. Incidentally the actual cream that you wanted is free with the HRT exemption.
