I am due to speak to my doctor next week but I know she will advise me to increase my daily Utrogestan to 200mg in order to prevent breakthrough bleeding. I started on continuous 4 months ago and have had a monthly bleed ever since, the latest one lasting a week. Not what I had hoped for! I started cyclical last December, I’m 55 but was advised to do cyclical as I hadn’t had 12 months without menstruation. I asked to move to continuous as I really wanted to end monthly bleeds and the guidelines say if you’re over 55 it’s ok to go to continuous. I don’t know whether to just change progesterone to another one like femoston, or try the double dose of utrogestan and see how I go. I’d be really interested to hear from anyone who has had a similar problem and found that increasing Utrogestan has been successful. Many thanks.

My doctor put me on 200mg continuously and it's been brilliant.
I also have three pumps of oestradiol gel at night.

Hi, that’s good to hear. So no issues with tiredness or bloating? I know every women will have a unique experience with HRT, but I do find it reassuring to hear positive stories as so many seem to struggle with side effects.

I honestly haven't had any side effects.
I sleep better too.
I did try magnesium for sleep, but it made no difference and wasn't cheap, so I stopped it.
