Bleeding

I’ve had a couple of occasions of vaginal bleeding in the last month. Haven’t had a period for a couple of years and am 54. No other symptoms such as dryness or soreness. Think I should make an appointment with my gynaecologist?

Yes you should.

AudiobookListener · 28/10/2023 17:31

Yes, even one instance is a red flag apparently.

RandomMess · 28/10/2023 17:31

Huge red flag that needs checking out

Sortmylifeout52 · 28/10/2023 17:44

Definitely. Don't delay.

I suggest to get checked as this definitely counts as ‘post-menopausal bleeding’.

So, went for appointment today. He did an internal ultra sound. Found what he thinks is a polyp, and also my womb lining is a bit thicker than it should be. Having a hysteroscopy on Monday. Am a touch worried as had breast cancer 20 years ago, and took Tamoxifen for 6 years. Reckon both things increase my risks. Fingers crossed all will be ok 👌

@Hihosilver123 how did your hysteroscopy go and were you recommended to have an ablation?

Hihosilver123 · 15/11/2023 20:28

Hysteroscopy was an experience! Wasn’t really prepared for what would happen. Was just about manageable but dropped my blood pressure towards the end so went very faint and nauseous. Recovered after a bit and then fine.
He took some biopsies but was fairly sure all’s fine. Results tomorrow 🤞
