Periods returning, what to do

I went 6 months without a period and have been on oestrogel and utrogestan (daily).

However in August I had a very short period, then one in September and now again. They are much lighter than in my younger days. Should I go back to the docs to discuss 14/14 utrogestan or can I just carry on as I am?

could I get pregnant? I’m 47.

How long have you been on gel and utrogestan? As you can have irregular bleeding in the first 6 months

Ask a medical professional. Post menopause bleeding needs investigation

If your periods hadn't stopped for at least a year before you went onto continuous HRT, this is possibly why you are getting periods now. The low dose of Utrogestan doesn't control your cycle.

The guidance for combined continuous HRT is 12 months post menopause, or over age 54.

You can check this out on Menopause Matters website (consultant written) under HRT/ Types/ peri and post menopause.

@timetorefresh 6 months without a period isn't post menopause.

Post meno is 12 months with no natural periods.

Yes.

Women under age 50 should use contraception for 2 years from their last period (ever.)

HRT doesn't stop ovulation if you are in peri.
