Hi! I’m looking for help please as so stressed out with this HRT malarkey 😔. So I’m 49, started HRT properly 2.5 years ago after suffering for years of symptoms after having my last baby at 41. Anyway, long story short, I was put on Gel and Utrogestan cyclically ( still was having regular periods when I started). Some of the symptoms have improved but mood and anxiety still awful so I started on 100mg of sertraline. Still have a lot of anxiety , especially health anxiety.( I’m a nurse and have always had health anxiety to a degree but it’s off the scale now😩). Anyway I also have zero libido which is awful as my husband doesn’t think I fancy him , which I do but I literally would rather go to sleep than have sex! What I would like help with please is I had my levels tested last month and the blood test was taken just after my period ( follicular phase ) ans my levels were oestrogen 340, progesterone 0.3 and testosterone practically zero( as it has been for years). I have been given androfeme to try but I read that oestrogen levels should be over 400 before you start testosterone - does anyone know if that is correct ? Also , bizarrely , I used to feel amazing during the week of my period and up to ovulation whereas now , once I stop the progesterone for the 2 weeks , I feel awful - anxious, low self esteem etc …
sorry for waffling on but I can’t seem to get any answers from my GP - can anyone help 🙏🙏
