My sleep pattern has been terrible for years now, despite starting HRT a couple of years ago.
After reading various threads about magnesium I tried a spray which didn’t help.
I’m now taking this magnesium glycinate, 2 pills at night, as recommended by another poster.
After three days my sleep seems even worse. I feel like I don’t get any proper deep sleep at all, just dozing and waking.
If you’re taking magnesium - how long before it had an effect please?

Are you taking any other supplements or protein ?
I found that moving my supplements to the morning helped a lot.

I used a magnesium body butter, and it work from night 1

It worked for me in conjunction with having the coil fitted (so constant release of progesterone)..

I have gone from intermittent waking to sleeping for 7hrs in one stretch.

That said I am early to bed and early to rise so I don't know how long id sleep without an alarm.

It worked for me straight away really. Best help has been for my restless legs.

After trying several different magnesium glycenates none of which worked, I've found this one which works (most of the time)

I don't think MG works for everyone the same. So good luck!

3 months on it & made zero difference to me.

Magnesium is better absorbed through the skin rather than capsules. Magnesium butter might be worth a try. Saying that it could take a few weeks to take effect.

560mg per capsule? That's a very high dose. You should aim for a total daily magnesium dose of no more than 350mg.
