Returning symptoms after coming off HRT

For those of you who have decided to come off HRT, how long did it take for symptoms to return? Or have they even returned?

I feel it's not doing much for me ( patch and coil ) and I also have a really problematic fibroid ( pain and bleeding).

I just don't know what to do!

I never feel balanced, despite experimenting with different types and doses.

Just had enough.

HRT didn't do anything for my symptoms and I tried different types and after a year decided to call it a day. I've been off it 2.5 months and my mood has levelled out but my god, the aching is awful especially 2 weeks before period is due. I also have raging heartburn and can't drink or eat anything without setting it off. Been prescribed a second month's worth of Omeprazole.

Sorry you aren't feeling any benefits either.

I wish it would all just piss off! Really scared I'll feel like this forever.

@BooseysMom yes I wish it would all piss off too! I'm so done with it all.
I've tried and tried and nothing ever seems to work for any length of time.

Now I've got this god awful fibroid which is giving me grief, fuck knows what to do now.

Anxiety is my worst symptom and I'm
dreading that reappearing again soon.

😢

It sounds horrible for you. I get the pain and bleeding but usually I can control it with Ibuprofen. This month it still hasn't arrived and I feel like I've got permanent pmt symptoms. It's shite!

Sortmylifeout52 · 01/10/2023 20:41

@BooseysMom yes it's all shite, I agree.

I'm guessing you are peri menopausal then, If still getting periods? Hopefully at some point, they will stop and things will level out.

I'm post menopause by 5 years and can't believe I'm still going through this nonsense. It's like I have no life at the moment. Either fibroids or hormones giving me grief!

Yes I'm still getting regular periods and am just in one now which has been much worse than usual. Much heavier and more painful. Plus the run-up to it has been awful and I've had to take a day off sick.

It's very unfair you're suffering like this 5 years post meno. It does take over life and you wonder whether this is it for now on..
Sorry for the depressing post 😥

Sortmylifeout52 · 04/10/2023 16:39

Yes you do end up wondering if this is the new life, that's for sure.

Sorry you haven't been feeling great either.. I have had to take a few days off sick this week too. The fibroid pain has been awful and now as I previously thought, the jitters and anxiety have kicked in! How much longer does it go on for?

Thanks. How are you feeling now? I'm in bed with a virus like Covid, but tested negative.

Thank you 😊 Yes it sounds very much like you will get a hysterectomy. How long have you been suffering this?

Sortmylifeout52 · 08/10/2023 10:19

@BooseysMom yes been like this fie a fair while now. It all started in February this year. They told me initially it was muscle pain.

Sorry I have only just found your post! I have just had a bad few days of insomnia and aching and the worse heartburn ever, but now it's eased off again. How have you been feeling?
