I'm posting for advice from the wise women of mumsnet as I really didn't expect peri for ages as my mum was in her 50s before she noticed any changes. I'm 42.
I've been feeling rubbish - most of the time- since maybe May. Here are my symptoms:
Fuzzy head feeling (is this brain fog?)
Dizziness and slight vertigo
Unable to get my words out sometimes, forgetting what I was saying mid-sentence
Worsening headaches during the week of my period
Feeling totally and utterly grim during my period
Periods coming earlier and later by 2/3 days when before I was bang on 28 day cycle
Strange feelings of heat coming over me, starting over my shoulders and travelling down my body ... these are worse during my period and make me feel sick and weird. Are these hot flushes?!
I'm so, SO tired of constantly feeling rubbish. I have a 3 and 1 year old and feel like I'm not able to properly enjoy my life.
I've been to the GP and had one set of tests- FSH was 28 so high.
I've also had a full range of every usual blood test, iron, thyroid, liver and kidney function - all 'perfect'. So I'm thinking this must be peri??
The GP has repeated bloods this morning for more hormones and FSH again.
What now? I'm totally clueless re HRT.. what it is/does, different options? I'd be so grateful for your thoughts and advice.
