'early' bleeding on hrt - why would this be?

Hi all,

Would love some thoughts as to why this might be happening or if it's cause for any concern.

Am late 40s, in peri - started HRT about 18 months ago to help with symptoms. For the first few months the 'cycles' were normal - ie bleeding on the progesterone-free days. That was followed by a few months of no bleeding at all - consulted with doctor and was told this was nothing to worry about.

About six months ago, monthly bleeds returned - HOWEVER, for the past three cycles, rather than bleeding when I stop taking the utrogestan tablets (as one would expect), the 'period' happens when I still have about 5/6 days of tablets remaining.

Why would this be? I don't think it's anything sinister because it's regular and not erratic - but does it indicate anything? Levels of oestrogen or progesterone too high/low? Be great if someone could fill me in!

Sorry I’m no help OP but this has literally just happened to me too. Ive been on estradot patches and utrogestan for 4 months and just this month my bleed has come much earlier and with lots of period craps and bloating (joy). I am going to check in with the gp about it next week but would be very interested in other experiences.
