Unusual longer bleed

Hi. I'm 50, and have been on HRT ( both) patches now for 6 months.
Pretty regular periods still, although randomly one was late a few months ago.

My current period started 8 days ago and is still ongoing with no sign of easing up. Very unusual as my cycle only about 4 days normally.
Should I be concerned or is this just the hormones from the patches, or a perimenopause symptom?

Things can and do get somewhat irregular around perimenopause and leading up to the menopause. Mine varied from between 3 and 6 weeks apart at that time (mostly 3 weeks though). They were ridiculously heavy and could last up to two weeks.

I'm 57 now. After ten years of that awful flooding, I now haven't had one since April so I have my fingers crossed that they have come to an end now. Not holding my breath though. Been here occasionally before and then they have restarted! 😠

We're all different. If you are noticing big changes then it would be worth a discussion with your GP.
