This kind of follows on from my driving anxiety post.

Anxiety is what prompted me to go into HRT, 4 years ago. It went for a bit, but is back.

Heart palpitations, knotted feeling in stomach and just generally feeling on edge and jittery. Driving is near impossible.

I upped my patch from 75 to 100 yesterday and hope it calms down
again. I'm so scared it won't and I will be back to square one again.

@Eyesopenwideawake no HRT even after a hysterectomy? Did you have to your ovaries removed too?

Do you think hormones level out after a while?

Yes it’s dreadful. Sometimes I feel so stupid. I honestly thought menopause would be just about hot sweats, none of this joint pain, lethargy, mental health, high cholesterol, vitamin deficiency, forgetfulness. I can’t wait for it to be over. I think I’m going to get myself a private consultation as I don’t think my gp understands it.

No, ovaries were left in situ hence no immediate menopause. I just rode it out with the help of my partner (he was a saint!) and keeping busy looking after the animals, horses have to be fed no matter how shit you feel!

Some people have a terrible time, some don't. For me the joint pain was unexpected and debilitating at times, the sweats were annoying and the brain fog a bit scary but knowing it was all part and parcel of a 'natural' transition helped enormously.
