Experiences of HRT for joint pain and/or reflux?

After a period of hot flushes and breast pain a year or so ago, my main issues right now are joint pains and silent reflux (throat not chest).
l’ve got a Mirena for contraception and am just starting to seriously consider hrt. Anybody cured joint pain or reflux with a low dose of oestrogen?

I know it's not what you've asked but have you been checked for coeliac disease?

museumum · 11/09/2023 20:55

@PragmaticWench no, this has all come in around the ages 46-48 so peri meno seemed the most obvious thing.
I thought people were born with celiac disease?

And I don’t have any gut issues. I’ve a very strong stomach (gut) usually.

I have ongoing reflux and it hasn’t made any difference to that, but yes to a serious reduction in joint pain. I thought I was riddled with early arthritis, but in fact it seems I only have it starting in one thumb now I’m on HRT.

Most people diagnosed with coeliac are diagnosed in their forties. Reflux and joint pain are very common symptoms.
