Back story: 43,peri, started HRT April 2022 (50 Estradot 200 utrogestan 12 nights).
Increased to 75 Estradot and 100 utrogestan continuous without break 3 months ago.
Bleeding becoming super heavy (used to be like this pre HRT) in last few cycles.
Last bleed finished 10 days ago and I’ve come on again today totally unexpected and anxiety is through the roof.
I have a gyn appointment 30th Oct to discuss mirena coil.
Is this a breakthrough bleed cos my patches have increased and I’m on continuous utrogestan now, or should I be worried. I feel like I’m never off the phone to GP who is worse than useless anyway and just keeps telling me to stick with it.
To put you in the picture the majority of my symptoms have eased throughout the past 18 months on HRT but the bleeding is a real issue. I have had to get transamic acid tablets off out of hours the past few months as it’s gotten so heavy, literally pouring out me, flooding within 30 mins of a pad change and huge clots. I do have fibroids that were diagnosed 20 years ago.
Suffered heavy periods occasionally in the past but nothing like this.
My Q is this: Can I stop HRT cold turkey? I feel I’ve messed things up and there’s an imbalance due to taking HRT. I’d rather have the sweats and palpitations and anxiety and itchiness back than suffer this every 2 weeks. Feel so weak. Sorry, long story but I can’t find any answers using dr Google and just going out of my mind. I feel so low.
