Peri and piling on the weight - help!

I've been on HRT since April, don't know if that's relevant, and my weight has gone up by nearly a stone. I have always carried excess weight but I feel like I really need to get in control as I look awful. Can anyone share any tips for what has worked with peri weight gain please? Obviously eat less and move more but I could really do with a strategy to follow! I'm not very sporty but do love walking!

Logging everything on My Fitness Pal enabled me to get on track and lose the weight I’d put on. I stuck to 150 calories a day & could see by tracker where to make changes and better choices. I’m now thinner than I was in my 20’s & 30’s! I feel HRT stopped it all accumulating on my tummy tbh.

I'll have a look at My Fitness Pal. Well done on your weight loss, it gives me some hope!!

What medications are you on? I experienced weight gain on the Mirena coil (levonorgestrel) but I was okay with Utrogestan (micronised progesterone.)

No advice but in the same boat. Even though I’m pretty disgusted with my appearance in photos I can’t seem to get motivated to shift it!

Am the heaviest I have ever been and size 12 is now snug. Am going to cut out booze and reduce snacks & try and reduce carbs (but with hungry teenagers in the house we do tend to have carb heavy meals.)

StuntNun I'm on Utrogestan too and Evorel 75 patches. I'm wondering if the meds make me put on weight or if it's just my age that's slowing down my metabolism.
TogetherWeLearn I feel the same about my appearance, I was in my local town the other day and caught a sight of myself in a shop window and couldn't believe it was me.
I have always tended to be overweight but in the past I have managed to lose weight fairly easily if I put my mind to it. I think I'm going to have to be really strict with my diet and probably try low carbing.
I wish there was more information given to women about stuff like this!

I'm same OP and on same meds as you. Need to get my act together but just have no motivation!

Surely you mean 1500 calories per day?
