I have been on 2ml of sandrema gel for last 2 years - GP increased by an extra 0.5 the max I think you can have as on blood tests - that I asked for to see if i could get testosterone it showed up that the oestrogen still had space to increase, my original desire for testosterone as for the terrible brain for and flat mood - I had read it might help
Its been about 3- 4 weeks - I have another test next week to check but my boobs hurt, I feel I'm gaining g weight around the middle suddenly and I feel bloated but I feel agitated. I have the mirena for the progesterone element after not suiting utrogesterone
I'm wondering whether I should bite the bullet and pay for a private consultation but my GP seems good so wondering if tweaking the type I take would help in any way
My DC is leaving for uni next week which I am also worried about so sure that's not helping my anxiety but HRT used to at least help manage my low mood and anxiety now I just feel desperate 50% of my waking day

Sore breasts and bloating are definitely symptoms of high estrogen. Can you just revert to your old dose to see if symptoms improve?

@WhereAreWeNow I'm tempted to revert but though as I have a bloodtest booked on monday I would try and hold fire and see If the extra is even affecting my total levels at all as im wondering if there's an absorption problem
maybe I should split the doe across the day ?

@Marmitemyway I can;t really offer any practical help on the gel but I just wanted to reassure you that you are not alone. My middle child is off to uni tomorrow and although she;s only 30 miles away and planning on being home lots, I'm struggling to cope. My HRT is definitely out of whack, I have been awake since about 4.30 this morning and just have this constant feeling of unease. Worse in the morning which does seem to suggest it's hormonal.

There are so many variables - do I need more oestrogen, less oestrogen, some progesterone (don't take any as I have had a hysterectomy), some testosterone, anti-depressants....

@Stroopwaffels I feel for you, its a perfect storm isn't it - mine will be 200 miles away and the other already that distance away too ! I've just felt out of whack for months in general for me its first thing I kind of oh no what's the day got to hold and then again after eating at lunch time (a healthy lunch! today was sushi) and I just always feel this whack of sadness and low mood and the seriously foggy head that stops me doing my job easily! Good luck to your DC I should start to think about the plus points of as full fridge and small washing pile !!

I had this last week.i was on provera for progesterone and they gave me utrogestan which I previously had.
Bloating sore boobs and puffiness much improved.
I had thought it was the oestrogen myself.
