Coil as alternative to utrogestan

I wondered if anyone had any experiences or comments about this for me

I'm peri, been on hrt for 12m+, but not getting on very well with the utrogestan. My GP has suggested that I get a coil as an alternative, and I'm trying to decide whether to make the switch

Thanks x

I haven't tried Utrogestan so can't compare but Mirena coil has been a god send for me. Insertion was painful but didn't take long. It's meant I hardly ever have periods - just a very light bleed/spotting every few months - and it works well with estrogen patches. I know it doesn't work for everyone though.

I had the Mirena Coil inserted one year ago. It has been great for me. Three months of light spotting and no more periods since.
I'm on a forum on Facebook that suggests utrogestan is superior to the coil as it benefits the whole body where the coil is localised, but I've never had utrogestan so I'm none the wiser. I'm on oestrogel as well and I feel good.
