One day (not even) period

Yesterday I went to the toilet and had a flush of period type blood after. I thought that’s weird, 5-9 days before I’d expect period. But made sense with other period type bloating / cramps etc.
But there’s been no blood since. Maybe a tiny bit of darker dried blood today, but nothing I would’ve noticed otherwise.
I’m now puzzled. Not had a one day (or one gush!) of period before.
I’m 39.
I was also dizzy one evening around the time I think i ovulated, only thought I must be ovulating as my breasts were achy.
Could this be perimenopause related??
I tried a search of mumsnet and saw TTC and implantation bleeding posts come up - but unlikely it’s that.
For the past couple of years my periods have been like clockwork, other than my last period starting 4 days early and now this weird one off thing.
anyone had this / any ideas??
still feel like I’m on my period (e.g. bit of bloating, etc), even though no blood!

Welcome to the world of not being able to plot any more!

I have had that. And nothing at all for 3 months. And horrible gushing 14 day affairs (this is what I have now). Every day's a surprise as sometimes there's only 2 weeks in between. Can't wait for the bloody things to stop.

Hopefully only two years more for me if I follow my mum

My periods went from clockwork perfect to batshit crazy when I was 39. I was on HRT for peri-menopause by 41.

But does that mean that if you have no period / one day gush (!!) that you still could have ovulated?
its all rather confusing. I’m not sure whether I’m still waiting for a “proper” period.

Have you had Covid recently? Apparently it can impact your cycle.

Not that I’m aware of. And I def had symptoms of ovulation as I was dizzy / got cramps, so was conscious that I had.
so is the one day bit of blood a random hormone thing, but I still get a treat of a full period??
anyone had something similar??
