Can the effect of HRT be instantaneous?

I've been on Evorel Sequi 50 for 18 months and have been getting on really well with it for the most part.

I've had some issues recently (some menopause related and some probably not) and went to see my GP yesterday. She's ordered some blood tests but also said that the reoccurrence of some of the issues I had prior to taking HRT (brain fog, sleep issues etc) are probably due to decreasing oestrogen and so the patches I was on having lesser impact, and so she increased my patches to the Evorel 75 (with progesterone tablets)

I swapped the patch over yesterday afternoon and within minutes literally felt a 'whoosh', like a surge. I was able to then crack on with some work that I'd had trouble focusing on all day. And last night I slept like a log. I was shocked when I woke up this morning that I'd not been awake several times in the night.

But it sounds unrealistic that the increased dose could have had an effect so immediately, and I'm skeptical and wondering if I'm imagining it and it's psychosomatic!

Or can anyone else report such an immediate impact?

I don't recognise the "whoosh" of instant relief but I certainly found it worked very quickly on some symptoms. I definitely slept better the night after I used my first ever patch. The hot flushes disappeared right away too. The other main symptom which was bothering me (anxiety, depression) took a bit longer, but around a week or two.

And on the flip side, I lost a patch when I was on holiday this year in the sea somewhere and didn't notice. Think I was without it for 2 days and felt the insomnia and jittery, on edge feeling creeping back straight away.

It certainly worked very quickly for me. One day I was crying over everything on TV and the next day I was fine.

I am also going through a bad patch at the moment - happens every few months. When your HRT is right you can sail through major life events. My dad died in the spring and it was quite traumatic at the end being there and supporting my mum. I felt I coped with that fine. Now 6 months later and DD is off to Uni next weekend and I'm feeling as if it's the end of the world, although it clearly isn't, it's just the hook my anxiety has picked this time. I know in a couple of weeks I'll be fine again, it's just getting through these shitty couple of weeks.

I started evorel sequi 50 three months ago and felt like this for the first few days... but then it's evened out and I'm still on the knackered side and still getting headaches every few days. But I'm finding the hormonal emotion rollercoaster has calmed down significantly and to be fair, this was the symptom that was most impacting on my life and relationships.

I felt the positive effects of HRT within a few days. My aches and pains just vanished, for one thing. I'm on oestrogel with daily progesterone.
