GP refused HRT

Hi

I started Eveoril Sequi 50 patches approx 3 months ago and after a huge bleed and massively increased anxiety. I contacted the GP and explained I wasn't sure if the patches were increasing my anxiety or it is because I suffer from anxiety anyway. He advised he could change the HRT and also prescribed propranolol. He then called me back and said he had taken advice and he wouldn't prescribe HRT as I needed to sort the anxiety 1st.

I have had anxiety for about 30 years and don't normally take anything and manage it. I have tried hypnosis and talking therapies so not sure what else will help.

I am worried HRT symptoms will come back. Hope this makes sense, I am not sure what to do!

Thanks

Increased anxiety is often one of the first signs of peri-menopause.
NICE guidelines state that HRT is a first line option, NOT medication for anxiety I believe.

Thanks blueuggboots. I am willing to try a different type of HRT so was expecting that. I have had anxiety for so long and always just manage it so don't really want to take medication for it. The anxiety I am feeling now is huge and affecting me like it did when it first started. I thought the recent anxiety might be menopause related. I think I need to call the GP again.

Thanks
