Bleed after 4 years Post Meno - No HRT

Hi all
I'm 53 years old and have not had a period for 4 years.
I'm having what appears to be a regular period at the moment - about average flow, using tampons, bright red colour. I'm on day 7 now and it has pretty much stopped except for when I urinate, then there is a bit when I wipe.
I've made a doctors appointment but can't be seen for another week.
Has anyone had a similar experience and what ended up being the problem?
I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this so hoping some of you can share your experiences please.

Sorry no advice, but I just wanted to say that the exact same thing has happened to me today. I haven't had a period for 18 months, had period pains yesterday, and had an upset stomach and am now having a period. I had spotting a year ago after 6 months of no periods, had a scan, and all was well. I'm on holiday at the moment, so I can't get to the doctor for another 2 weeks! I suffer from horrendous health anxiety which doesn't help!!

It happened to me at about the same stage of menopause, it was investigated but no cause was ever found, I was told that it can happen sometimes and isn't always caused by something bad.

Same happened to me and the GP organised a urgent appointment for a scan. All was fine with me but it can be an indicator of other things so definitely get to your GP
