I started it a month ago for peri symptoms which was mainly palpitations and anxiety. I'm only 40. I've had no side effects at all and also take the mini pill too. Hasn't made much of a difference though to my anxiety but happy to keep going for its protective benefits for later life. I am thinking though if asking for patches as no risk of blood clots and not sure if Elleste has newer form of progesterone in it or not whereas the patches do

Thanks for your reply. The GP started me on anti anxiety meds a few months ago, but i think it is menopause related. I'm on day 4 now. Just desperate for a full nights sleep, and not feeling hot all the time

I’ve been on in for 3 years now - got rid of my hot flushes, palpitations, brain fog and anxiety although I have had some weight gain which might be attributed to it 🤷‍♀️

Ive read about weight gain, but i am on ozempic so will hopefully avoid it. How long would you say it took to work for you?

I'm early 50s and on it

Been on it a couple of years now, you get a period once a month as normal my circle has lengthened to around 35 days, my period is heavy for a couple of days then dries up

I've also gained some weight unfortunately but no menopausal issues so I'm sticking to it for a while longer

TheOnlyAletheia · 21/08/2023 10:20

It wasn’t that long - maybe two weeks to get rid of the hot flushes and sleeplessness?

5+ years 2mg
There was a break when it was unavailable and I went down to 1mg and my symptoms reappeared. I then tried gel and tablets, which was an utter faff trying to keep on top of dates I took gel and no tablet, and dates I took both. My male GP didn’t understand stand why I may not have the headspace for that!! I digress…

My main symptoms were, insomnia, heart palpitations and periods which were either absent or lasted 8 weeks+.

All these symptoms are gone. I still get periods, usually light and quick. Sometimes not- but still over in 6/7 days. I suspect that’s my hormones still going up and down in the background.

I’ve put on a few pounds in the last 18 months, but that’s either just getting older or ddog dying and so those walk’s I’m no longer having having an effect.

I'm just starting my 5th month on Elleste Duet (I'm 54).

So far it's been fantastic. The hot flushes stopped after about a fortnight, my memory and thinking is clearer and my energy has returned.

No weight gain even though I have an underactive thyroid.

I get a 4 day medium/light period at the end of every pack.

I started 1mg in May and it's been ok. No weight gain, better moods. Periods still heavy and painful but slightly less so. Still knackered.

The main reason I started it was because of sore hips and tbh yoga has been more use for that.

I'd love my periods to stop tho while on this I guess they won't ?

I still have crippling pin and heavy periods.
