One very long cycle followed by a short one?

My periods have never been precise, but generally 26-31 day cycles are normal for me.

Now, at 53, I don't really have menopause symptoms but my cycle has gone a bit weird. My last cycle was 46 days and whilst I haven't come on yet, all the signs are that this one will be less than 3 weeks, so due more or less when it would have been if last month was "normal".

Is that a thing?

I think so - I’m 46 and had 6 months with no periods then had 4 back to back with about 3 weeks in between them. I have no idea when the next one will be, it’s very annoying!
