Monthly cycle and period symptoms after menopause?

I have not had a period for about three years but still feel like I have a ‘cycle’. I’ve never had HRT. Dd has her period at the moment, and I feel really moody and a bit crampy. This happens regularly when she is on like I am still in sync with her. It’s like I’ve got my period but with no bleeding. Anyone else have this? Is it a thing?

I’m also not on HRT and have noticed something similar (although officially I’m still in peri). My thought are the hormones are still there but not in high enough quantities to trigger anything and it all just ebbs and flows and peaks and drops and the rest of your body tries to adjust. Which might be why, one day you feel great and on top of the world and the next you feel like you’ve been run over by a bus. And I think that’s why hormone tests are a bit hit and miss too. But that’s just my personal thoughts on it all.

The exact same thing has happened to me just last week – although I’m officially still in peri (last period was almost 3 months ago). I got all the signs and symptoms I was due my period (and silently cursing that the 12 month menopause clock would reset) and then…. this week…. Nothing, no period and it’s all gone away and I feel normal again. But last week, I was crabby, short tempered, felt really fed up/could have cried if someone was too nice to me, fuzzy head and wanted to cram carbs down my throat – all signs for me I’m due on.

You might also be having “sympathy pains” with/for DD. (It’s a thing… google it)

Thanks yes that makes sense. Sympathy pains - interesting!
