Bad period pain after Provera

I've recently switched from sequential patches to gel and provera for 14 days. I think Dr prescribed provera cos of utrogestan supply problems. I had light bleeds on the patches with not much cramps this is the first bleed after stopping the provera and I've had 3 days of agonising cramps and heavy bleeding. I'm not staying on this. At what point can I have continuous progesterone? I'm 49 and have had irregular periods for over 10 years and hadn't had one for a year. Or if utrogestan is available now is it worth trying that or will I have bad period pain with that? I don't want to come off it completely as I can't go back to the rage and mood swings but also can't have another bleed like this.

I was on sequential Utrogestan but had to switch to Provera because of the shortage. I didn't get any bleeds on Utrogestan (but was only on it for 2 months before supplied dried up) but after my first 14 days on Provera, I had a really heavy bleed for 5 days. Longest since I was a teen! However subsequent months haven't been as bad. So although my experience is only anecdotal, it may mean that yours is also better next month.
