Repeat prescriptions

Asking because my GP will not let me have HRT on a repeat prescription even though before the shortages I would have six months worth. My prescription hasn’t changed in a very long time. So if you’re on a repeat just say yes or no.

A friend of mine goes private for hers and only sees her annually and just has to email for her order to be sent straight to her from cloudrx she’s not with that Newson specialist either

What are you asking?

Mines on repeat. Not 6 months at a time though but easy enough to order online via the practice app. I have an appointment once a year

Well you could hazard a guess @Cloverforever

i get mine on repeat 3 months worth but they never have my whole order! To be honest the whole things a bloody nightmare but it does make me feel great so I keep at it. I don't have reviews I did have a blood test and ultrasound last month due to excessive bleeding so they were good in that respect.

Oh sorry forgot to say it differs between surgeries one of my friend is like yours they won't put it on repeat

What are you asking?

If you’re HRT and you get a repeat prescription without having to actually see a Gp . You either request it online or the old fashioned way hand in the back of your previous where you can tick what’s required

Been on it 7 months and not yet allowed a repeat

DarkModeDear · 03/08/2023 19:35

Been on it 4 years and it hasn’t ever been on repeat…until now. I was reviewed 4 months ago and it was put on repeat BUT I can only order 2 months at a time and it’s only for 6 months then I have to have a review again.

I do get why, symptoms changing can soon mean an increase or a change may be needed, although post hysterectomy and on a stable dose for the last 16 months it’s unlikely I’d need changing, but I understand having the same rule for everyone simplifies things. So much gets wasted. Of all sorts of prescriptions.

DarkModeDear · 03/08/2023 19:36

And actually it’s the nurses, rather than Drs, who do HRT reviews where I go and at the surgery where I work.

Mine isn't on repeat, I have only been on it for 7 months so hoping at next review that might change. It's the nurse practitioner who dies the reviews over the phone and it seems easier to get a call with her than a GP.
