Crazy before and after pictures after stopping progesterone part of HRT

Hi everyone. So. I am having crazy bloating and massive boobs on the progesterone part of HRT. Tried patches and pills now, both orally and vaginally. I really like the oesterogen part, feel so much better, but I have to take the progesterone half the month to prevent endrometrial build up - right? This can't be normal though. These pictures are taken 24 hours apart. I stopped the progesterone part, started bleeding and peed all night long, lost 2kg in weight, and look what happened! wtf. GP tells me to keep going for a bit and see if it 'settles'. PS - I have the date marked on the pics on my phone - this is absolutely real.

I had this OP! Up all night pee'ing and lost a couple of kg too. I actually stopped taking utrogestan for 3 months, just to see what the difference was, everyone commented on how much weight I'd lost and how good I Iooked! I felt so much better physically, bowel no longer sluggish, skin glowing etc I had continued to take the oestrogen, but I'm not stupid. I knew I had to have the progesterone.

Gynae scanned me and did womb biopsy after congratulating me on not being afraid to experiment sensibly to find what works. I had the mirena fitted and its a happy medium. Certainly not as bad as the utrogestan 😳 I long for the day when enough research indicates we don't actually need progesterone after all!

I long for the day someone invents a pill that you take at bedtime and you wake up with a period which lasts two days and no horrible build up of endometrial lining.

And no two week progesterone phase!

I'm having the same issue hence me coming in this part of the forum! My stomach goes from being rock solid like it's got a brick in to all jelly like within the same day. I've gained over half a stone in about four months. I need to ask for a review I think, I've been on it 14 months now. None of my clothes fit me anymore!

Hi guys, thanks for your comments. Glad to know I am not alone! I feel pregnant half the month. So I'm trying a self prescribed approach this month. Evorel sequi patch cut in half plus one pump of oestrogel daily. This means that I should be getting a decent amount of oestrogen but when I get to the progesterone patch for the last 2 weeks, it will be half the usual dose. I'm not supid either, I know I have to have some but I seem to be super sensitive to it, particularly Utrogestran (that stuff is evil for me, which is a shame as It's supposed to be more 'natural' but is so sedating I can't focus all day). How did you get a referral to gynae FreakOfNature? My GP thinks I just need to ride it out...😬Good luck to you all, I hope you find your best fit soon xxx

Op, I was bleeding with the uterogestan (tried both ways). GP ref'd to gynae to get womb scanned. I was on the highest dose of oestrogen and wanted to rule that out as a cause beforehand.
Gynae was lovely, happy that I'd done a lot of research. Womb lining was ok despite no progesterone for 3 months. He suggested swapping my coil for mirena and whilst he was down there took a biopsy to double check everything was ok. I barely knew he'd done it all...until the following day when I did feel I'd been punched 😯 Few days of rest and painkillers and haven't looked back. Very reassuring to know that any bleeds now are down to hormonal blips.
