Mirena coil and bleeding

I had a Mirena coil fitted two months ago as I had post menopausal bleeding and a thickened endometrium (had hysteroscopy and all fine). I’ve had continuous spotting since the Mirena was inserted, which I was warned may happen. It stopped three days ago, I thought thank goodness for that, but I now appear to be having a full on period with cramping. I could really do without this - any advice? Should I worry about it? I haven’t had the Mirena checked yet - haven’t been able to get an appointment at the GP.

Hello, I have a thread on this on here somewhere. I'm the same but about 4 months in. On my thread I did comment I'd stopped bleeding about a month ago, that lasted about 10 days and now I'm back to spotting and bleeding. I do have at least one fibroid so could be that.
I've a nurse telephone call booked for later this month to discuss way forward. I'm thinking stick with it for now as the bleeding is so much better with mirena than the flooding etc without it! Possibly asking for oral progesterone too but I'm concerned about low mood etc on higher doses.
I hope it settles for you, I think two months is still early days.

Same here. I had a womb ablation in 2021 which stopped all bleeding but then had a nasty infection (embedded coil) a fibroid and adhesions which were all sorted with some minor surgery but now the bleeding is back. The only other thing they could offer for me was a hysterectomy or coming off HRT so living with constant but light bleeding is the lesser of three evils for me.
