Help! HRT and bleeding heavly

Sorry for long thread... I am new at this!
I am 44, have PCOS and did not had a period for 15 months, then everytime I went to the loo for a wee I would bleed a luttle bit. After many tests it was decided that I would go on HRT. I use 2 pumps of oestrogel every morning and 1 tablet of ultrogestan at night, every day, no break at all.
I been on it for 25 days ans since the 3rd day I have been bleeding heavier than ever in my whole life. Is this normal?
Rang GP about it, as I am worried and i'm due to go on holidays on the 23rd to celebrate 20th wedding anniversary, and was told I could either start take norethisterone 1 week before going to stop bleed or provera ... said after holiday to wait 1 month and if bleed is still bad to get back to them!
Any tips? I am new at this and is awful having to use 8 to 10 pads per day (sometimes need 2 at sane time) and always have to have spare underwear and bottoms every time I leave the house as bleeding is so heavy!

Someone with experience of this will come along soon I'm sure. I don't know if it's normal for HRT or PCOS.

In the meantime, just in case no one answers, are you aware that if you get to the point where you're soaking pads in less than an hour, you need to go to A&E? Or if you start feeling unwell, same goes.
