Can I miss a month of progesterone (utrogestan)?

I’m taking estrogel (2 pumps a day) and utrogestan tablets for 14 days a month for progesterone.

The progesterone is ok ish but does make me bloated and constipated (and gives me very weird dreams). We are going on holiday for 14 days almost exactly matching a time I should be taking it. I’m thinking of not taking it while I’m away, either delaying by 2 weeks or skipping a month.

Has anyone done this? Not sure what the downside is.

Hi I am thinking of doing this to avoid hideous moods whilst on holiday. Did you do this, did it work?

Wigglypasta · 08/10/2023 07:48

I have done this with no problems. I didn't completely skip the month, I just delayed starting the tablets until I got back.

I did this inadvertently. I was going through a difficult period in my life and lost track of when I was supposed to take them and missed the entire period. Nothing bad happened

I often do it. Ithink some menopause doctors even prescribe 10 days every 6 weeks.

Not sure though.

Its often hard to get where I live.

Sorry - I let this slide, I did delay by 2 weeks and did not get a bleed that month (I am currently taking it again and no bleed). I didn't have a bleed every month before but have checked this out and apparently it does happen to people anyway.
