Hi all, just wondering if I can find out your experiences with Evorel Sequi patches. I started using these a week ago so am on my third 50 patch.

Im not expecting any dramatic improvement - I know this can take months - but so far I actually feel, if anything, even more bone-tired and am really irritable to boot, which is not usual for me at this point in my cycle.

Im just wondering whether this irritability is a temporary effect when you start on HRT?

thanks

Hi @ThunderMonkey just wondered how you're getting on with the evorel now? Had a phone consultation earlier and my GP is going to prescribe them once I've had my blood pressure checked.

Hi, I had a brief period of feeling a lot better - loads more energy - and then that stopped and I started to feel more and more anxious, more than I was before HRT. My gp has switched me to oestrogel and Utrogestan tablets which I’ve just started so we’ll see…

Anxiety is the big one for me. Fingers crossed this works for you :)

It took about 5 weeks for me to feel any benefit but it has worked a treat. Anxiety was a big symptom which has gone completely, but took 5+ weeks to feel the benefit

I'm a week into these patches and I am having awful side effects and trying to weigh up whether to keep going or ditch. Headache, nausea, body aches etc etc etc. is it worth keeping going?

Weeflo77 · 22/10/2023 19:38

I am on my last week of the 1st box. I can honestly say that at times I feel uncontrollable rage and it is aimed at everyone and anyone. The slightest thing makes me so mad. I dont know if this is the patches or the perimenopause. I really can't help my temper 😩.

eggsandbaconeveryday · 24/10/2023 14:56

My temper was awful before starting the patches and now after 3 months on them I rarely get those symptoms. I was also suffering from dreadful anxiety but that has almost gone too.

Hi OP, how are you getting in with the change in HRT?

ThunderMonkey · 28/10/2023 20:50

Hi @MrsPoliportsGoose , tbh I don’t feel much better. Particularly since I’ve been taking the Utrogestan. I’m starting to think I need to ask for antidepressants

Can I ask if anyone has had restless legs with these patches? I have suffered with restlessness in my feet for years but they have been well under control for a long time. Recently they have been going mad again and driving me crazy. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this??

Hi all. Started on the Evorel sequi 50 patches today (was on the gel but due to some side effects trying patches). I just have one type of patch, noticed on a few threads about using one type of patch for 2 weeks and then another type for the next 2 weeks - just wondering if this is something different or do I need to go back and check in with my doc?

DC73 · 27/01/2024 09:03

Ok I’m an idiot. 4 of each in there. Assume do the 50s for 2 weeks then conti for 2 weeks.

bigbadbarry · 27/01/2024 09:06

Yes. Just start at the front of the box and use the patches in order front to back

Mamacita9 · 14/02/2024 23:33

Just thought I’d chime in with my experience in case it’s helpful to anyone. I started sequi three weeks ago. I’m cutting my patches in half to start with. On the 50 patches I felt moody, weepy, crampy, irritable and my boobs felt increasingly heavy and sensitive for the first 10 days. But my hot flushes, insomnia and migraines disappeared within the first three days. On day 8 I had a breakthrough bleed. Not just spotting, a proper period-style bleed for three days. Around the 10 day mark my mood lifted and I felt energetic and peppy. I even started craving vegetables I haven’t liked in years and my libido was back to how it was in my 20s.
Then came the conti patches. Basically like PMS but every day and very changeable. Cramps in the morning, none in the afternoon, mega cramps in the evening. Super sleepy, bloated and sluggish one day, then feeling fit but moody the next. However, it did relieve the boob heaviness so it’s definitely countering the oestrogen like it’s meant to. I changed my patch yesterday (this is day 9 of conti) and I feel like my period is definitely coming tonight or tomorrow bc I’m cramping and spotting now. The package insert says we should expect a bleed after week 1 of conti, which never made much sense to me. Theoretically we should bleed when we finish two weeks of conti and start a new pack with Evorel 50 again. This is because it’s the withdrawal from the sudden progesterone drop that causes the bleed. My thinking is that stretching a patch over 4 days is basically causing withdrawal bleeding, at least for me. When I changed the first patch after 3 days I didn’t notice much difference but when I changed the second patch after 4 days it was like starting from scratch with the side effects. Everyone is different but I think my body absorbs the patch within 3 days. Next month I’m going to try changing the 4 day patch 12 hours earlier so I’m effectively doing 3.5 days and 3.5 days rather than 3 days and 4 days. Hopefully that will cause less of a bump in side effects when I change patches, and hopefully it will shift my bleed to the end of the four week cycle, which is what I want!
Good luck ladies xx
