Travelling with gel

If you used oestrogen gel, what proof of prescription do you take with you to keep it in your hand luggage?? I have the original boxes with the prescription labels on them, but I don't have a copy of the prescription itself. Do I need one?

If it’s estrogel it’s under 100ml and fitted easily in my clear plastic bag for security so I didn’t bother taking anything else with me.

No. I put all my prescription stuff like inhalers and HRT into a separate plastic bag. You don't need to sacrifice make up space for medicines.

Oh and I haven't taken a prescription to show them in security since 2006 when the plastic bags were introduced.

I just put in its box with the pharmacy tag on been all over never been questioned about it and I’ve traveled to many places over the world.

I travelled through Gatwick a couple of weeks ago with my prescriptions including Oestrogel (not in it's box) in my hand luggage, The Oestrogel is 80g and was in the clear plastic bag they hand out. It went through the scanner and was waved through. A woman standing near me at the next scanner had done the same with her Oestrogel which was taken out by the security guy who told her she couldn't take it as hand luggage. She had to go to the end of the conveyor presumably to explain what it was and try to negotiate it's release

I took mine over 100ml in the original container but not the box or label. They picked it up to look at it but nothing more. I have my repeat prescription on my phone but no one has ever asked for any proof.
