When in cycle do you take Ustrogen, if for two weeks?

Hi

I am off to pick up my first HRT prescription and am feeling quite excited about this.

I am having an estrogen patch to wear all month but ustrogen for 2 weeks. I still have periods.

The GP said it doesn’t matter when I start the ustrogen. I had it in my head that it was two weeks after my period starts.

Is there a better time to take it? Surely it makes some difference over the month or maybe it doesn’t ? Feeling a bit confused

I just take it on the first of the month so I remember!

You just pick days to take it and stick to it. You don't have to link it to your own cycle.

Thank you @Movinghouseatlast and @massistar

If HRT has helped you to feel better, how long did it take to help?

My main problem is feeling so tired - although that is obviously affected by sweating and waking at night - but I also have very achy joints as well as other signs, am hoping to feel a quick difference 🙏

@TickToad it's definitely helped with my aching joints which was worst symptom for me. I'm sleeping better too so that's helping with the general tiredness. I noticed results within a couple of weeks so fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

It made a massive difference to me with a few weeks, though my symptoms were all psychological.

I still have a serious lack of motivation which I would like to solve, but insomnia, rage and panic attacks all went.

I take one tablet daily on the advise of my doctor, my periods seem to have stopped since doing this. In my head it's like having the Merina Coil?

It's helped my worst problem which was aching muscles/joints massively.

I initially did 2 tablets for 2 weeks but felt sluggish through the day.

I've just got my prescription for HRT today too, oestrogel and utrogestan, the dosage for the utrogestan is one to be taken on days 1-25 of my cycle, is this right? My cycle only lasts 21 days, so I'm not sure what to do, it was a triage doctor that sent the prescription through and I can't speak to the nurse until 2 weeks time, any help would be really appreciated x

I’m in a similar boat to you @buddyb5 . I think she said I can start today, which is day 24 of my cycle but the box says take on day 1. I’m going to take it today for 25 days and have a three day break and see what happens. Symptoms are too bad for me to want to wait for AF!

@UmpteenSteps
Confusing isn't it, I'm going to contact my gp today and find out, I started the gel last night, good luck with it and keep in touch x
