Am 48, had a few symptoms, the worst of which was bad sleep and started on everol sequi 3 months ago.

I have not had fun I think it's fair to say. My sleep has improved but I've also started going to the gym regularly and found a magnesium which hasn't upset my stomach so I'm not sure how much that helps.

The progesterone phase has been awful with migraines, sickness emotions all over the shop, awful brain fog etc, periods have been heavier. The oestrogen phase has been fine but I don't feel markedly better and after 3 months I'd hope to see something.

Have my review appointment on Friday and I'm wondering where to go. I did wonder about asking to swap to gel and body identical progesterone but there are still shortages aren't there.

Or pause it and see how I manage without? I can't manage with the migraine frequency or brain fog that comes with them...

My specialist was clear I would never manage cycles due to progesterone sensitivity and very frequent migraines.

I have the progesterone only pill plus utrogestan and oestrogen patches.

A better solution would be patches + a Mirena coil which my friend has and swears by, but I didn't want a coil.

You need a solution that doesn't have cycles in it, and if you do have Utrogestan you would probably find it better vaginally.

I tried many combinations of HRT before finding one that suits me. Patches didn’t suit as I wasn’t absorbing it very well and at the time the gel wasn’t really available. I’ve no issues getting the gel from chemist’s but utrogestan was difficult to find last month. If I were you I’d ask for something different the sleep and motivation for the gym was a plus side for what you’ve been given.

I'm on gel and utrogestan and I haven't experienced shortages where I live. Other forms of HRT really didn't agree with me.

If you get a Mirena coil, you don’t have to worry about shortages.
