Due to the shortage of Utrogestan I’ve been switched to Provera which I’ve taken for 2 weeks. Shock, horror I’m bleeding .. I haven’t had a period in 10 years. Any help or advice welcome. Hoping to get a Drs appt Monday morning. TIA

I had the same thing after having to change to a different type as mine is no longer made and there wasn’t an exact alternative. I read on the leaflet that bleeding could happen during the first 6 months. I was really fed up as I was about 59 and had no periods for about 5 years. It did take about 6 months to sort itself out. I was about to give up and go ask to dry a different type but it stopped. No other symptoms with tender boobs or pmt. But very disappointing to have to wear a pad as I had absolutely no idea when it would kick off. Would ask your gp just because you always need to take any bleeding seriously post menopause but I don’t think this is unusual . I hope it settles soon

@Softy62 Post menopausal bleeding should be reported BUT switching to a different type of HRT can cause bleeding. TBH it's not really an issue but if it puts your mind at rest, talk to your GP. The risk of endometrial cancer is not going to appear in 2 weeks when you've been on HRT for years.
I'm sure you'll be told this is normal and just to carry on with the new progestogen.

Me too, exact same thing, no utrogestan so given 5 mg provera 2 weeks ago and now bleeding, phoned surgery and told it needs investigating😔

Exactly the same thing has happened to me after two weeks of provera. I feel fairly relaxed about it as the same happened when I switched from a mirena to Utrogestan. I had investigations but everything was fine and it was put down to changing the progesterone part of my hrt.
