Utrogestan shortage - medroxyprogesterone instead?

Due to the shortage of Utrogestan my online pharmacy is now going to send me Medroxyprogesterone instead although I need to wait another 2-3 weeks even for that.

Has anyone had any experience of Medroxyprogesterone?
I'm nervous to swap as I'm usually very sensitive to medication changes.

Watching this thread with interest. I've been given this too due to the Utrogestan supply problems. I don't even have the patient information leaflet in the box due to the way my prescription was made up. I've been taking the Utrogestan on the 1st of the month for 25 days, then I take break till the 1st of the next month. Its been working well and I'm afraid to try the new stuff. I wonder if I can take it the same way? Thankfully I have a sympathetic Practice Nurse at the GP, so I'll ask her next week and will pass on any advice.

I’ve been given combined patches due to the ultrogestan shortage and I must say, I actually feel better on them. Maybe it’s due to the constant hit of the meds instead of the gel and tablet.

I’m currently taking Medroxyprogesterone due to Utrogestan shortage. I haven’t experienced any negative effects, in fact I feel less bloated then when taking Utrogestan.

I’ve taken both and not noticed a difference.
