Worth going to GP ?

I’m 44 and think I am peri menopausal.
My symptoms being massive weight gain, mainly round my middle (I actually feel swollen) occasional night sweats and a change to my cycle.

I’ve always been as regular as clockwork, every 27 days, but I am now stretching out to 35, then having a period 12 days later, then back to 35 days again. I also have occasional days of random bleeding or spotting.

Is this enough to approach my GP with to ask around HRT, or any other actions I should be taking ?

If you are feeling bad or different, it is always worth going to see them. It will start a dialogue and there is no point suffering unnecessary.

Definitely - do you have any other symptoms - hot sweats, low mood /confidence, brain fog, headaches, insomnia, low libido?

I've started HRT at 43. Has def helped

Yes! I'm 42 and was prescribed HRT two days ago!

Random bleeding should always be checked.

I really don’t have any other symptoms (that I am aware of) which is why I am doubting myself a little.

thanks for the advice, I’ll book a non urgent appointment in

44 is by no means an early age to start with these things, pm sounds highly likely. you should certainly go to the GP if the symptoms are impacting your quality of life, which it sounds like they might be?
