Perimenopause?

Hi all, bit of background, I'm 46 and have had a 'set your watch by' cycle of 25 days for years now. Pretty light periods, nothing of note apart from very noticeable ovulation pain.
In the last six months the cycle has started to vary by 2-3 days and ovulation pain is intense. My last period was earlier (and shorter) than expected and then I had really intense pain two days later that felt very much like ovulation pain and lasted about as long as usual.
I'm presuming these are all perimenopause symptoms? I've also put on about 10 pounds over the last year that I'm finding hard to shift despite eating well and exercising regularly and my sleep is worse than ever (has always been bad).
Is it time to visit the GP to look at next steps or do I record symptoms for a bit longer? It's not life changing (yet) but I guess it's going to get worse? Sorry for all the questions but I'm still 25 in my head so haven't really prepared myself for any of this! 😁

Go to the GP now. You wouldn't wait a few hours before taking a paracetamol for a pounding headache, would you?

The sleep and weight gain are typically peri. In my own personal experience the weight gain was because I was knackered from lack of sleep, and eating to keep going, so as soon as I started HRT and my sleeping calmed down, so did the eating, and I was able to lose the 6kg I had gained pretty easily.

The ovulation pain could be peri it could be something else. Nobody can tell you who is not a GP with experience in this part of medicine, so you should get checked out, peri or not, and don't be fobbed off with "who knows?" about any severe gynae pain.

@Passerillage thank you - you're right, I wouldn't hang about with any other aspect of my health!
