Anyone experienced estrogen spikes / overload & taken hrt?

I’ve had awful estrogen spiking around ovulation for a couple of years now, and now not necessarily each month. I get really tender huge boobs and feel pregnant, even down to a bit of morning nausea! I’m nearly 47.
but… other symptoms, particularly joint pain, are pushing me towards considering low dose hrt. I’ve got a mirena so it would I guess be estrogen patches only. Will this make me feel worse? Im quite scared to add more estrogen to my system. But might a more even dose reduce these horrible spikes? Any ideas??

Yes! I've just been prescribed a higher dose patch and my boobs really hurt and I have put on half a stone! In 3 months! I have muscle aches constantly. I feel awful all the time so i ripped off the patch the day before yesterday but then caved and put another one on yesterday and feel even worse! If that's possible!! I'm on the 2 weeks of Utrogesten now and it's worse than the 2 weeks without It. I am totally at my wits end with HRT!

Argh no. That sounds awful @BooseysMom - why was your dose increased? Sounds like it’s not agreeing with you.

I know, I am so fed up of all of it! They upped it when the 50 wasn't doing anything for my symptoms. I now have such horrendous pain everywhere. It has to go! I think oestrogen doesn't suit everyone. I'm going to go for a coil. Good luck!
