HRT - what do you take

Just wondering what everyone else does?

When I first started a couple of months ago I felt amazing! It was like I'd found the holy grail. However this last couple of weeks my moods have been like a rollercoaster, the brain fog, the anxiety, feeling so insecure and like I'm losing it a bit.

I take 3 pumps of Estrogel, I pea sized drop of testogel and an progesterone 100 1 a day.

What bit causes the anxiety because that's the worst symptom?

I've been on HRT for just over a year. I take one pump of Oestrogel and one 100mg Utrogestan daily. It's enough to keep me feeling good and on an even keel. I'm 59, a late adopter of HRT.

I think it's the progesterone component that can affect anxiety and mood, though don't quote me on that. You don't say if you're on sequential HRT but if you are just taking it for part of your cycle it could be that. It's only been a couple of months so you might need to leave it a bit longer to see if things settle down.

Thanks @DramaAlpaca that's really interesting re progesterone causing the anxiety. I'll look into that some more and I may try taking it vaginally, I've heard that could help help alleviate side effects.

Taking it vaginally really transformed HRT for me. Taking it orally made me incredibly anxious.

@MWNA that sounds promising! Will give it a whirl. I keep waking up and I get this impending doom feeling each time- it's horrible.
