Patches first time user and what to expect?

I’m 51, today began using the HRT patches, can’t remember dosage and brand (at work at min so haven’t got access to packet, Evorel Conti I think?).

been taking progesterone pill for about 10 years, due to ovarian cyst causing heavy bleeding. Not had a period since….. wonderful!!!

all symptoms of menopause at the min, mainly insomnia, really low mood, extreme anger, feel like my relationship struggling due to my moods etc.

I’ve put the patch at the top of my thigh, feels like it’s well stuck! What do I expect in the short term or is it more long term? Few colleagues have said they are life changing!! Am I expecting miracles or will these symptoms disappear??

I started it about a month ago and I feels so much better . I had a bit of bloating which has settled but otherwise I can say it is amazing . I have my energy back I am able to exercise and my hubby has been asking if I have been on a happy pill. I am in evorel sequi patches . It started working about a week in

@emodi thank you. Strangely, within a few hours of putting the patch on I felt bloated, like I’d eaten too much, which I hadn’t! I’m really hoping a see a drastic improvement 😀

Hi. I have been on patches almost 2 years. At first I also had bloating, it probably lasted 6 months and still get it now and then but not too bad. I definitely improved over time. I also take testosterone which helped a bit, I think. I still find it all a bit confusing! But I have more energy and less moodiness so that's definitely an improvement.

I felt massively improved within just days, aches gone and sleep improved. My blood pressure went down over the course of the month and I feel a bit more on a man even keel. My weight has stayed the same, 4 months in but I think the fat has moved off my stomach and onto my boobs that have gone up a cup size back to pre-menopausal size - not such a bad thing.
