Help with progesterone side effects

Sorry it's me again, a newbie to HRT. I'm on day 4 of progesterone (200mg pessaries, 1 a night for 12 days) and I feel like a total zombie. It's like I've drunk 2 bottles of red wine and have a blurry fuzzy hangover. I could go to sleep standing up, i swear.

Has anyone else had this? Does it pass? I'm wondering whether or not to take one tonight as I have to drive for 3 hours tomorrow and frankly i'm not sure if i'd be safe to in this state.

I was very sleepy to begin with but put that down to poor sleep for months/years before taking it and catching up. If you are used to light sleep, deep sleep feels odd. After several months I feel ok.

I take them continuously.

Could the dosage be too high? I take 100 mg of progesterone each night and never feel like this. I'd be grateful if it helped with my sleep...

You need to take it 10 mins before turning your light off or you might feel foggy, fuzzy and maybe nauseous.

I found the side effects really calmed down after a couple of months.

I switched to taking it vaginally - mainly because it made me suicidal, but also because I felt like a zombie. The sleepy side effects aren't as apparent when you take it vaginally.
