Estradot 100 where can I get it from?

My local pharmacy is just saying no. Local boots checker is saying no.
Apparently they supply issue is back to normal according to the internet but other than ringing round every chemist locally is there a quicker way of finding it? I don't think I absorb the everol as well and they are bloody huge!

I use estradot 75 and have the same issues. I’m afraid it is just a case of calling around to find supply.

DIsForDelightful · 30/06/2023 09:24

Isn't it so frustrating. I hate the size of the everol patches and I use two at a time.

The pharmacy at my local Asda said they could order 50s earlier, but no 100s or Utrogestan.

WhereAreWeNow · 01/07/2023 07:10

Just keep trying everywhere @DIsForDelightful
I had same issue with Estrodot 100 for the last couple of weeks. Took my prescription around a few independent pharmacies and found one that said they could order it in for the next day. I didn't believe them but they did and it turned up on time.
It's so stressful.

Tesco got mine

GulesMeansRed · 01/07/2023 10:40

I think other women have had success with getting GP to prescribe 2x50 patches rather than 1x100 when 50s are easier to source. Wearing 2 patches not ideal but 2 estradot patches are still smaller than 1 evorel.

I'm on 2 x 100 so I'd end up with four x 50 on! I've a big bum but I think I'd struggle 😩😆

Thank you. I've asked for them to do a prescription for everol for the time being. I'll start ringing round on my next day off.

This is why I changed to gel. I was either covered in patches, half of which were falling off, or I couldn't get the patches, or they didn't seem to work very well. At one point my arse was covered in 25s kept on by graze plasters, and I thought, 'well this can't go on'.

Very long story short, I'm on Sandrena now and have a 6 months' supply thanks to the GP surgery's pharmacy lead (we kind of circumvented the GP); and I seem to manage on a slightly lower dose of gel in order to 'tick along' ok.

DIsForDelightful · 04/07/2023 23:28

I looked at gel but when the doctor showed me the amount I'd need to use it was so much! She said I'd be rubbing it in for days. I've asked for the everol now but I think he's going to be difficult about the dosage I'm on. I don't want a battle but I know my symptoms will all come back if I have to decrease my dose. So worried.

Boot’s prescription checker is best bet I know for finding any local stocks. Why is there the shortage though, does anyone know?
It’s out everywhere near me and I have waited three weeks for one pack with an iou from the chemist. I’m finding Evorel very itchy on my skin after two days and get a rash underneath.

WhereAreWeNow · 05/07/2023 06:44

Boots prescription checker has been hopeless for me. It shows up as in stock when it's not.

GulesMeansRed · 05/07/2023 07:42

@FishFlaked i get a horrible red rash using evorel too, it’s not that uncommon I think. Gel didn’t agree with me at all, the only thing that really works is Estradot patches. I have been able to get 75s through a private pharmacy in the past but not cheap at around £50 for 3 boxes, and the 100s are more expensive.

SeeTurtle · 05/07/2023 07:49

I’ve been struggling to get Utrogestan 100.

It’s so frustrating. Every time I change prescription I seem to gain half a stone and then it takes me six months to lose it again 😢.

I wonder if certain brands are in demand because of the prepay certificate? Or is it brexit related again?

FishFlaked · 05/07/2023 08:09

Sorry to hear that Gules
I think in the long term rising demand is a good thing- the more women relying on this medication the more of a voice we will have hopefully. What is shameful is an ideological government ‘bringing back control’ but in reality leaving us with the past few years of essential medical supply shortages. It’s not just HRT, it’s loads of medicines. It’s appalling.

GulesMeansRed · 05/07/2023 09:00

Much as I love to give the government a kicking over Brexit, this is not what is causing the issue. Women in the Republic of Ireland and in Scandinavia are struggling too, especially with estradot which many feel is the “best” due to size and lack of allergies. There’s just not enough to keep up with demand.
