Shakes etc before period

I think I’m peri- but each month the week before my period is getting worse and worse and bringing more symptoms.

This week I have the shakes. I feel like I’ve had 3 coffees( I don’t drink coffee anymore). My arms and legs are shaking and whenever I exert myself it’s worse.

In addition to this I’m bloated, have a constant headache and have cramps. My tolerance for other people is at zero and I can cry at the drop of a hat!

My questions are:

  1. Did anyone else have this.

  2. What things can I take that may help me feel better going forward. Morrisons has just been and I’ve ordered magnesium. Going to take some later.

Any suggestions?

I have been on the gel for a year.
Im not going to lie it hasnt been a wonder drug for me, i get ups & downs still. But it may work wonders for you.
Worth a try, even to avoid antidepressants for a while to see how you go.
Im currently going through a low patch, but im finding this is norm for me & will pass 😔

The low mood has been the worst lately, literally feels like my body has been taken over and I have no control over my emotions. I try to be positive I know how lucky I am but it's like my mind won't let me.
Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the moment. I hope it passes soon.

Thank you @Essexgirl80 . I hope you find a solution too. I feel your pain. Im sure hrt will help balance you out. Keep on at your Gp to at least try you on it to see if it helps. You're entitled to that at least.
Good luck & keep us posted. Xx

Hi all- just a little update. Went to see a lovely female gp who has sent me for a whole host of bloods. She was lovely when I chatted about my periods and how I felt. She said it could well be all down to menopause, however she wanted to do a due diligence blood test to rule anything out. She is then going to see me next week to discuss bloods and next steps.

my local hospital has a walk in/sit and wait blood test so I’ve been and had the test. I was quite pleased that even though lots of things were listed on the sheet, it was only two vials of blood that were taken.

I will update when I know anything else .

Had a text from gp to call and make an appointment. On hold now to try and get through. I don’t know if it’s good they want to see me or bad cos somethings wrong. Bit nervous tbh. I’m caller 7- hopefully won’t be too long before I’m answered.

Thanks for the update, I'm sure it will be fine. I'm going to do the same next week.

Not as dizzy this week, but it's still hovering in the back ground. Dreading my next period! Hopefully they will stop soon

Ok so I went to the doctors this afternoon. Apparently I have a problem with my thyroid. The doctor was lovely- although it wasn’t the same one as yesterday, he was nice. They’ve prescribed me two lots of medication.

I asked the doc about my periods and he’s said it could be all to do with my thyroid or it could be menopause. He has given me another blood form for in 4 weeks. This is just a thyroid blood test though.

The doctor said that the lab phoned the surgery as my thyroid is so off the scales. He did say that all the other bloods were ok. Tbh I was so jittery when he was telling me this I forgot to ask what the other bloods were.

It was not what I was expecting at all- I thought I was coming away with HRT!
