I recently started taking HRT- oestrogen gel every day and progesterone capsule for 2 weeks every month. Now, doctor didn't really explain particularly well (or I didn't hear it..) - I need to take progesterone for 14 days and then stop for 14? Is that correct ? I have an appt next week to discuss several things but can someone please clarify?! Also how do I know when yo start progesterone as I am not having regular periods- they had pretty much stopped but now having bleeding after taking progesterone. I am a bit confused and research online gives various scenarios.
What does everyone else do if you haven't yet gone a year without a period ?

I've recently started the same regime, am 44 and perimenopausal so still having periods though irregular. I was told to take the progesterone on days 15-26 of the oestrogel cycle

The dose is actually 12 days of Utrogestan. The 14 days was suggested in GP training to supposedly help women to count to 14 rather than 12!

If your periods are irregular, start it at any time and stick to that day every month.

The HRT should reset your periods.
