Vaginal progesterone AND Vagifem?

I've been taking 100mg Utrogestan and feel awful. GP suggested I try 200mg progesterone vaginally and I already use Vagifem once a week. Should I take them both at the same time? Half an hour apart? Completely forgot to ask.

Utrogestan at night, Vagifem any time as long as a gap between.

If you can cope, you can switch to oral once a week. That's what I do sometimes. So you're using it now on a cycle rather than daily?

You wouldn't use 200mgs daily, even vaginally, unless you were doing it only 12 days a month.

I’ve never actually given this a thought. Post menopause when I started HRT so 100mg Utrogestan orally ever night before bed and twice a week a Vagifem pessarie at the other end plus Ovestin. All done at same time just before bed and don’t think it’s caused any issues.

oh it’s clearly too early for me to have read the op properly sorry.

I honestly don't leave any gap, just put them up and let them get on with it. Never thought of doing it any other way.

Jingling no, using it daily. I'm a few years into menopause, on 100mcg oestrogen patches now, getting occasional spotting (which has been investigated via the two week pathway, nothing found). Doctor suggested I might need more progesterone, but I suspect it's making me feel worse even at 100 so she suggested I take it vaginally.

Anna 'just put them up and let them get on with it' 😀
