Will HRT shrink my stomach?

I’ve got to the end of my tether with my massive stomach. I look 6 months pregnant - am slim all over, size 10-12, healthy BMI, but still can’t get rid of it. I figure it must be perimenopause. I’ve been advised to go on HRT because of anxiety and brain fog but will it also deal with my belly?

Getting down to the lower end of my BMI is the only thing that helped my peri belly, I think HRT has helped stop more fat landing there though.

It hasn't helped mine. In fact I just seem even more bloated at the front and look 6 months pregnant!

As pp says... lower end of BMI is the only way, but I'm finding this impossible to achieve since I hit 60.

There are ads on my Facebook for weight loss focusing on a hormonal approach but I have no idea what evidence supports this. Worth a try I guess.

The opposite for me :(

i have stopped taking my HRT for a while to see if I do lose any weight as have been sticking to my usual strict diet without a result.

I am exactly the same size as you with a massive pregnant belly and hoping for the same too! Only started HRT this month.

I think I have to do Pilates.:(

Unless you already have, please check that this is not something that needs treating medically. It is a symptom of a few conditions.

Low carb?

BansheeofInisherin · 11/06/2023 23:04

Yes I have had it checked medically, thank you..Genetic as well I think as mum is the same.

I am low carbing as much as I can considering I don't eat meat!
